How adorable right? My husband was mowing grass and this little one was just lying in the grass. My husband didn’t notice him in time and rolled right over it with the riding mower. Miraculously the blades missed it. We spent the evening trying to find its nest. He was not flying yet and a nest was no where to be found. We have a lot of animals around here that would love to make a nice snack out of this baby. We decided to make a nest and put it into the tree hoping he would stay. After two tries it was clear he had no intention of staying in a tree. The little thing hopped out both times. So then we tried to put him higher up to give it a fighting chance of surviving the night. That didn’t work either. He (or she I guess. How do you tell?) would just hop away. Nature knows best so we let it go. I checked this morning and it was no where to be found. Hopefully it survived the night from all those critters and mom will find it and teach it how to fly.
So it was late by the time we got done and I didn’t get to post. Today is just as crazy because my girls have their recital tonight and I am running around trying to get everything ready. Why oh why they picked a Tuesday night I have no idea! If it’s not too late I will post that project tonight. If it is... tomorrow then. Ciao!
